Apparel

The Brooklyn Farm was set up in 2016 by Adidas, with the mandate to set the brands creative direction and to imagine the company’s future. Situated in Brooklyn NYC, the Farm is a creative space that fosters new thinking and is supported by a number of technical and enthusiastic full time creative staff employed to help bring design visions to life. I was in the first generation of designers to start a 3 month rotation at the farm and here are some of the things I worked on.

The NFL sideline project was inspired by an image I found of Joe Namath, sat on the sideline with his team mates, whilst out injured and wearing his fur coat. It got me thinking that the sidelines offered a great opportunity to showcase lifestyle products for any company sponsoring the team. I chose to create two military jackets (field jacket, MA1 bomber) for their strong identity and affiliation with streetwear and further customized the project for the Adidas sponsored college team, Louisville.

Footwear

I spent at least half of my time at the Farm working on footwear concepts and exploration. I found working on product that I had no expert understanding in to be very liberating and I was encouraged to take advantage of the footwear experts on hand and pursue my ideas. Some of these ideas were continued, in essence, after I left the farm and made their way into the season’s creative brand direction.
