Final Graduate Collection

In my final year on the MA Menswear course at the RCA, I found myself really looking into the authentic influences in my life at the time…this meant sports, pubs and bars and my own wardrobe became key influences. I learnt to work with what influenced my day to day even though, at the time, they didn’t seem obvious, credible fashion cues.

The Gentleman’s Evening Pack

International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF) set a project all students on fashion courses to create “an innovative new fragrance”…This was my response. I repurposed vending machines that used to sell cigarettes in the toilets in bars and pubs after it had been made illegal to sell tobacco in these establishments. The idea was that men could acquire useful props in the pursuit of a potential, romanic encounter, in the privacy of the male restroom. Companies could collaborate were relevant and bring in marketing revenue for IFF.
IFF awarded me 1st runner up prize for the project.

Levis Project

Responding to a brief set by Levi’s, where we were given a plain white T-shirt and a pair of raw denim 501’s, I recreated an old pair of Levis 501’s that I had lovingly worn for 7 years.
I used bleach and sand paper alone to wear the brand new jeans down. I also wore down the T-shirt and tailored it and attached it to the jeans to create a jumpsuit of sorts.
This was a project of personal passion and I poured hours into creating the desired outcome…Levi’s awarded me with first prize for the project and asked me to join their design team after I graduated.
